Steve Hartigan, who is the Assistant National Secretary of the Djinning Association, informs us (30 Jan 08) that Peter Hales has suffered a mild stroke and it is impacting on his Huntingtons Chorea and he is not travelling all that well at the moment. Peter is currently resting at SandBrook, which is an assisted aged care facility at Burley Waters, on Queensland's Gold Coast. Anyone wishing to contact Peter and wish him well should contact us and we'll pass on your regards to Peter's wife Dorothy. We all wish Peter a speedy recovery and our thoughts and support are with Dorothy as well in these difficult times.

PS.   We've received an update from Dorothy Hales, through Steve Hartigan, she says  "Please thank everyone who sent e-mails to Peter, either to me or Weekesy, they really lifted Peter's spirits, I have them in a folder and read them to him every couple of days. Peter has now lost his mobility and is finding this rather difficult knowing Peter you will understand.

The Aircrew Association is having a luncheon on the 2nd March, I will get Peter all dressed up and the staff will lift him into the Electric chair and I will take him in a maxi taxi. Peter enjoys the ACA luncheons, other than that he is doing as well as can be expected. Thanking you all - Dorothy"

Geoff "Nick" Carter, who looked after a lot of us at Radschool, and who after hours, in his own time,  tried to make us understand some of the stuff we'd be taught (by others) during the day,  has been diagnosed with lung cancer and is taking it easy at his home in Melbourne. Nick reckons they (the doctors) have been trying to pin this on him for ages but as yet haven't found enough of the wretched stuff in him and so can't get rid of it......
